Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance. It is produced by the skin to help keep it hydrated, but this production decreases as we age which can leave the skin looking dry and crepey and lead to sagging. It is a popular ingredient in skincare products like moisturisers but is much more effective when directly applied to the skin as in dermal fillers.
We’ll go over which areas of the skin you wish to focus on in consultation with our skin team, but dermal fillers can be applied to most areas of the face and neck. Popular target areas include around the mouth, nose, and eyes, as well as the cheeks, jawline, and chin.
We will first apply a numbing agent to the area being treated so you don’t need to worry about experiencing any pain or discomfort. As with all correction treatments, there is some risk of bruising at the site afterwards, but this is by no means guaranteed.
The amount of time you’re able to see your results for does vary from patient to patient. For most patients, however, the results can usually be seen for 6 – 18 months.
